Vegan chickpea dessert recipes break past chickpea's place in savory cooking. Get creative in the kitchen and use canned chickpeas, aquafaba, or chickpea flour to make everything from brownies to cookies to mousse.

Chickpeas have long been my favorite bean for savory uses but once I started adding them to desserts, it's opened up a world of possibilities. And, surprisingly, there are a handful of ways to include them!
Perhaps the most commonly used technique is to blend a can of chickpeas. This is great to make a dessert hummus or brownies because they become part of the batter.
Another option is to roast cooked chickpeas and make crunchy nut-free chocolate bars or bark. You want to keep the seasoning minimal, a little salt or cinnamon is fine though.
Every time you cook chickpeas or buy a can, a magical liquid called aquafaba is left behind! You can whip it similar to egg whites to make mousse, macarons, or meringue.
Chickpea flour is dried chickpeas that have been ground into a powder. When paired with kala namak, this gluten-free flour gives an eggy flavor to vegan french toast and crepes.
With these vegan dessert recipes there's nothing this tasty bean can't do. Give them a try!
