My mom raves about this sweet and spicy sauce from Bonefish Grill, but I’ve never been able to try it.

But with this recipe, no one has to miss out because this delicious bang bang sauce is made with vegan tofu mayonnaise!

I use this sauce on everything from a simple wrap to salads to tacos and, of course, to make bang bang tofu (or cauliflower). It makes everything better!

    Ingredients & Directions

You will need these simple ingredients to make vegan bang bang sauce:

Ingredients with labels: sriracha, sweet chili sauce, tofu mayo, and seasoned rice vinegar.
    • Vegan Mayo is the base for this creamy sauce! You can use homemade tofu mayo or your favorite store-bought brand.
    • Sweet Chili Sauce adds sweetness to the sauce.
    • Seasoned Rice Vinegar adds tang and a hint of sweetness. Regular rice vinegar doesn't have any sugar, so make sure to get seasoned!
    • Sriracha adds the heat! You can adjust the amount to your liking.

To make homemade bang bang sauce all you have to do is place all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix until smooth and creamy!

Please refer to the recipe card below for the full list of ingredients and detailed instructions.

    Adjustments

This is your bang bang sauce! Adjust the taste to your liking!

    • Adjust the Spice - For a bit less heat, use 1 teaspoon of sriracha, but for more, start with 1 tablespoon. I find that 2 teaspoons is a good balance of sweet and spicy, but I know that it varies from person to person!
    • Adjust the Sweetness - Just as with spice, you can adjust how sweet you want your sauce. Add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or agave nectar until you are happy!

Ways to Use Bang Bang Sauce

Bang bang honestly goes with everything! Here are a few of my favorite ways to use it:

    • To make bang bang tofu, cauliflower, or broccoli.
    • As a salad dressing or sauce for rice bowls.
    • Drizzle over blackened tofu tacos.
    • To make bang bang noodles.
    • As a dipping sauce for sweet potato fries.

    Storage

Store leftover bang bang sauce airtight jar in the refrigerator for about 7 days!
