    Use your favorite hummus recipe; I used my favorite flavored hummus from a local vendor at the farmer’s market.

    Fresh tomato, red onion, arugula, microgreens, and blackened tofu take this pizza to the next level.

    The great thing about pita pizza is that it’s personal-sized, so play around with the topping combinations if you make multiple. Here are some ideas:

    • Sauce - Pesto, ranch, regular pizza sauce
    • Veggies - Artichokes, red bell pepper, carrots, zucchini
    • Protein - Sriracha chickpeas, crispy tempeh, mushroom bacon
    • Vegan Cheese - Mozzarella cheese, tofu ricotta, nut-free parmesan
    • Garnish - Fresh basil, rosemary, oregano, roasted garlic

    Here’s a step-by-step guide to making the best pita pizza with hummus in the air fryer:

    Step by step guide to making pizza pizza: spread hummus, add onion, add tomato, add tofu, bake, then add greens.
    1. Spread hummus.
    2. Add red onion.
    3. Add tomato.
    4. Add tofu.
    5. Air fry at 400°F for 7 to 9 minutes.
    6. Add greens.

    Oven Instructions

    The air fryer is perfect for making just one pizza, but if you want to please a crowd, bake multiple pita pizzas in the oven!

    Place the pita bread pizzas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 400°F for 8 to 12 minutes or until they have reached your desired level of crispiness.

    Storage & Reheating

    Store leftover pita pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up 3 to 5 days.

    Reheat the pizza in the air fryer at 400°F for 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through. Add more arugula and microgreens and enjoy!

    • 1 pita bread about 12” diameter
    • 2-4 tablespoons tomato basil hummus or any flavor
    • 4 pieces blackened tofu chopped
    • 2 tablespoons diced tomato
    • 2 tablespoons diced red onion
    • arugula a handful to lay on top
    • microgreens to garnish

    Instructions

    • Spread an even layer of hummus over a pita.
    • Add tomato, red onion, and blackened tofu on top.
    • Air fry at 400°F for 7 to 9 minutes or until the pita is crispy.
    • Add arugula and microgreens, and enjoy!
